Profiles
Christopher works with business leaders and senior executives to help them to improve their performance in areas that are central to their success and that of their organisation. These include leadership, team-working, behavioural change, communication skills, cross-cultural skills, emotional intelligence and work/personal life balance.
His first-class consulting skills enable him to establish rapport and identify key issues quickly and to work with his clients to assess the options open to them. He gives clients the confidence to implement whatever actions are necessary to address these issues efficiently and supports them through this process.
Areas of expertise
Over the last 20 years he has coached and trained hundreds of senior executives and managers from all over Europe and beyond. His clients have come from a diverse range of industry sectors, but he has particular expertise in the technology and financial services industries, as well as business start-ups.
His strength lies in helping clients to improve their business performance, leadership, business communication and people management skills. He also has extensive European experience in working with business and management teams.
Style
Christopher is highly client-centred, seeking always to achieve the best outcomes for both individuals and their companies. His approach involves helping clients to strengthen their self-belief, overcome limiting attitudes and release their true potential.
He has a strong positive presence that creates a safe space in which clients can talk freely and openly. His manner is calm, reassuring and empowering and he is able to ask challenging and direct questions when this is appropriate. He is an excellent listener and his analytical mind can help to identify new and creative options. He is also bi-lingual in English and French and can work in both languages.
Background
Christopher's background is firmly grounded in management consultancy. His early career was spent with Andersen Consulting (Accenture) in London and Societe Generale in London and Paris. He then moved into Executive Search and Selection in 1984, becoming a Director of Jonathan Wren International, a City-based executive search firm, handling international assignments, predominantly in French-speaking Europe. Together with his two fellow Directors, he then co-founded a new executive search consultancy, the Devonshire Group.
In 1988, he chose to move back to a major professional services firm, Deloitte, and became a Principal Associate in their Executive Resourcing consultancy. Here, as European Liaison Manager he took a lead role in developing cross-cultural understanding and international teamwork among his European HR colleagues. One year after the firm's acquisition by Coopers and Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers) he returned to freelance consultancy, gaining extensive experience in executive career coaching with Right Consultants of the US, and in international training and development with Canning in London. From 1995 to 2003 he worked with Canning as Human Resources Manager and senior Training Consultant, coaching international managers and delivering management skills seminars for many of the world's leading companies. He has been an independent consultant and coach and Director of EuroExec Coaching since 2003.
